Message	-similar situation i had last week. Went and test drove a '90 TT with 53K miles, looked solid, no signs of body damage, owner showed me a "clean title" with no mention of rebuilt or salvage. went home and did a carfax - showed the car being issued a salvage title in 1990 and then changed to rebuilt title a few months later (in Illinois). The title must have cleared as it was transferred from Illinois to Ohio. Although the history of the car , according to carfax, will always show Rebuilt.
